Looking to meet other mums in Leeds

Hi there,

I'm mum to 14 month old twins and I'm not planning on returning to work; so I'd really like to meet other mums in Leeds. It'd be great if you have a child(ren) who is/are under 2.

I'm 35 and enjoy going to groups, soft play, out for tea'n'chat and for walks with my girls.

It would be great to hear from you.

Take care,
Zoe

I'm happy with any meet ups although would be better the week after next for evening meet up.

My email address is
bev2102 @ rocketmail . com
Obviously without the spaces in there.

If you do email me please put your mumsnet name down so I know who you are.

I may have to either back out of daytime +LOs meet as I'm having a lot of trouble with my health at the moment so cannot chase after my DS and struggle to pick him up. My DH is my registered carer so usually does the lifting etc I just do the cuddling etc The only other option would be for DH to come along too but I don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable so am happy to bow out for now.

mistlethrush · 13/08/2010 09:30

So - evening meet up:
Mistle
MummywithA1family
Justabout
Cookie
BunnyL

I can do 24 (Tues) 25 (weds) 25 (Thurs) that week as no child care issues - would that be anygood for people?

Spirael - sorry this counts you out at the moment due to cluster feeing - but that stage won't last for ever and you will, in a few year's time (WinkGrin) be able, once more, to go out perhaps once a year....

Spirael · 13/08/2010 11:15

That's ok, I'm not really a 'night out' kinda gal anyway. Wink I prefer cosy nights in, though preferably with good food and drink! Which, conveniently enough, can mostly be fitted around cluster feeding... As long as all the food can be eaten one handed. Hmm

For a potential trip to Tropical World, if it was arranged for a Saturday then I'd probably drag my DH along too for nappy changing duty, if that was ok with everyone. :)

BunnyLebowski · 13/08/2010 11:28

Bugger I'm taking DD back to Ireland Mon 23rd till Fri 27th so can't do that week.

Feel free to go ahead without me. I'll be free the following week though Smile.

CookieMonster2 · 14/08/2010 10:50

Sorry haven't posted for a couple of days, haven't been well.

Mistle, any of the dates you have suggested for an evening meetup are fine with me and the Stables would be a brilliant location for me. I really like it there, especially in the summer. Its a nice quiet location for if you want to chat and actually be able to hear each other as well! Any Headingley pubs are good for me as well as they are nice and quiet with the students out of the way.

arses · 14/08/2010 11:06

Hello folks, can I join in too?
Living in North Leeds, can't drive but a whiz on public transport (!!! and hopefully the driving issue is only temporary).

BunnyLebowski, I'm from Cork. We're taking the boy (8 months) to Ireland that week too..

MummyWithA1Family · 15/08/2010 08:04

Sorry but may have to miss first meet as I've had a mc Sad

CookieMonster2 · 17/08/2010 14:08

Sorry haven't posted again for a while, I'm sure I'm getting better now Smile

Sorry to hear about the mc MummWithA1Family. Hope you are OK soon and will hopefully see you on another meet-up.

How about 31st/1st/2nd the following week then when hopefully a couple more people will be able to make it?

MummyWithA1Family · 18/08/2010 04:11

If I'm feeling a little more human by then I'll come too. Is that for the day or evening meet Cookiemonster2 ? I'll pick anyone up that's on my way or not too far out of my way if that helps anyone?

CookieMonster2 · 18/08/2010 21:00

Sorry I didn't make it clear MummyWithA1Family, I meant for the evening meet up. Can't see either happening at the moment though, come on folks, is anyone up for this?

Spirael · 19/08/2010 10:55

I'm just waiting for a date for the daytime meetup with the kiddies (and DHs/DPs?) along for the fun. :)

Sorry to hear about your MC, MWA1F. :(

CookieMonster2 · 19/08/2010 20:30

I'm afraid I can't make the next couple of weeks for a daytime meet-up now. I'll try again to arrange something once the kids have gone back to school.

MummyWithA1Family · 20/08/2010 03:07

CookieMonster2 When do DC go back to school? If it's not too long I'm happy to wait until then as I must admit I'm still in a lot of pain at the moment. Sad

Spirael Thank you. I really want to do the meet during the day but am not quite up to it yet. Maybe another week or 2 and I'll be feeling better.

Feel free to email me, my email address is above.

Where do we all live by the way and which meet are we up for?

I'm in a village near Wetherby
Daytime meet with DS (21 months) and DH (a little older)
Evening meet alone (no DH or DS)

Spirael · 20/08/2010 10:11

Waiting a few weeks is fine. :) I'm mostly free on Saturdays until October... When things get busier.

I'm based at the heart of Bramley (West Leeds).
Up for a daytime meet with DD (6 weeks) and DH as long as it's the weekend.
Not up for an evening meet currently... DD cluster feeds all evening!

My email address is "albino rae at hotmail (.com)" if you remove the gaps and brackets, and add the @ as appropriate.

To stop any confusion, I don't actually have albinism. Wink

MoonFaceMama · 04/09/2010 22:34

Hello!

I may have missed the boat here but i'm up for meeting! I've met bunnylebowski before at roundhay... Hi!...not much uptake on the meetup hey!? And mummywitha1family we've been in coversation in threads before. I'm so sorry to hear about your mc. I had one before ds and understand a bit what you are going through. I'll email you...I live in your direction so maybe you could come to my pigsty home for a coffee one day soon? Smile

I'd love to meet up some time, ds is still pretty much bf so can't do evening child free fun at the mo, but up for other stuff!

photoleeds · 07/09/2010 15:58

Hello ladies, I am in wortley (whitehall road) and have an eight month old boy. I would love to meet up for girly chats and interaction for my little man etc... (all the cartoons are driving me insane!..lol).

Please let me know if anyone fancies meeting up.

Thanks, Clare x

Spirael · 07/09/2010 21:17

Hiya! I'm still around... Just waiting for something to be arranged. Wink

Can't promise girly chats though... I'm a bit of a geeky tomboy myself. Blush

arses · 29/09/2010 07:54

What happened with this? And how do you make this go in active conversation, as I posted before and forgot all about it!

MoonFaceMama · 01/10/2010 12:38

Hello!

I'm still here and up for a meet up!

Arses I think it hangs around in your "threads I'm on" for five days but not sure how to change it...

Tilly78 · 13/10/2010 16:10

Hello, I've just joined and would like to meet other mums in Leeds. I am living in Chapel Allerton and have a 6 month yr old daugher. I am due back to work after Christmas and really not looking forward to it!

Spirael · 14/10/2010 12:09

Hi Tilly! I'm still around... My DD is 14 weeks now.

We really should all get around to organising something rather than just saying we're available. Blush Any ideas?

Maybe a Leeds City Centre meet up at some point, initially for a drink/cake then see where things go? I need to get started on the Christmas Shopping anyway... Eek!

bluecatt · 19/10/2010 01:39

I'm in Oakwood and have a 4 year old in school and a new 7 week old boy. I'm up for daytime meetups if anyone's still interested? I drive so can get to most places (preferably with coffee and cake involved :-) x

Gaunts01 · 22/10/2010 17:51

Hi

I have just joined mumsnet in the hope that I will meet mums to be in the Leeds/Wakefield area.

My baby is due in January and would really like to know of any local groups in the area that I can attend.

smile

Spirael · 23/10/2010 09:46

Hi Gaunts! :)

Which area of Leeds are you in? Over in Bramley I attend a Stay and Play session at the Baptist Church on Wednesday morning.

There's also a Rhyme Time session at the Library on Tuesday Morning, might be at the other libraries around Leeds too?

Alternatively the Leeds/Bradford Odeon does a Mum and Baby cinema deal on Tuesday mornings. You can see the details here.

Hope that helps a little! Congratulations on your pregnancy, hope it's going well. :)

Spirael · 23/10/2010 09:47

Sorry bluecatt, missed your post! Blush I'm still around and available for meetups, have transport too. DD is now nearly 16 weeks. :)
