Primary schools in Esher

Hi - wondering if someone might be able to share some experience with me please! we live in Esher (near the train station) and I need to start looking at primary schools in the area for my daughter. I don't know anything about the schools around here, so am really interested in finding out which are good and which are to be avoided. Any help would be appreciated!

Cranmere is very good (and near the station). I didn't choose it for mine as it's a bit too far away, but the head is brilliant. A friend's son goes there and they are very impressed with it.

Only just seen this message but my daughter started at Cranmere in September and we've been really pleased with it so far. A boy in her class lives near the station so I imagine you'll be OK getting in...

Great to hear - thanks to you both for your answers. I have one other question - do you know what age the child should be when you apply - ie does it get very booked up? My daughter is still very young so am sure I have time, but just wondering at what stage i need to apply? Many thanks

Hi,

My daughter goes to Cranmere too and I'm really pleased with it. There's also Esher Church School - but you have to be a church goer to get a place. You should also look at Thames Ditton if you are near Esher station. you apply for schools in the october the year before your child is due to start. They start in the school year that they will turn 5.

Just wanted to get some updated advice on this thread. Head is spinning with school choices and welcome advice from parents, particularly around Thames Ditton Infants, Cranmere, Hinchley Wood, The Orchard, Esher Church. Thank you so much in advance!

Hi, we are really lucky in this area that these are all good schools, I think the best thing to do is look at as many as possible and decide on that basis. I've personally never heard a bad word about any of them...
