Advice for Antenatal Class

I am expecting a baby in July, and planning to have birth at Whittington Hospital. I tried to book Antenatal Class there apparently, it is fully booked from May. So I contacted NCT, and it will costs about 250-300 pounds, I wonder if I should go for NCT's Antenatal Classes, or Private Classes, or if you know any other option. Please, advise me what to do. If NCT's classes are worth, I don't mind paying for them, but I don't want to waste the money either if there are better options. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hi. The NCT classes are comprehensive antenatal classes and have a generally good reputation. There are lots of other places that offer private classes, depending if you want to incorporate alternative methods. eg. hypnobirthing techniques.

Have you tried calling Gillian Stellman (NCT) - I'm sure she doesn't charge that much. 0208 445 4160. Let me know!

If you would like help to think through and create a Birth Plan and a couple of meetings to help you understand the hospital birth protocols, potential interventions and natural alternatives to drug-based pain relief, I would be happy to help.I am a DUK recognised doula in NW2 Please take a look at my website: www.alisongrunwald.co.uk
You are also very close to the Active Birth Centre in Archway where you can do yoga. This helped me birth two of my children without need for heavy medication.
