Hello - in crouch end

Hi

My dd is 14 weeks old and I am slowly getting used to looking after her and a bit bored of my solitary journeys down to the broadway each day. I have tried weigh in sessions etc. but everyone seems to know each other from NCT (a bit too expensive for us at the time) and I am a bit too shy to butt in.

However, if anyone is around for a coffee/ wander round the shops or a meet up in crouch end I would appreciate some adult conversation before I go back to work and have only said agoo for the last few months.

Perhaps if more experienced mums know of a time and a place I can head to? Or we could set something up?

(By way of explanation my username is my daughter's bump name).

My dds are older, but have you tried the NCT's coffee mornings? The email contact address is [email protected] and they have regular get-togethers at people's houses. I haven't been myself but if I had a new baby that's what I would do.

Also there are baby massage sessions at the Hornsey Vale Community Centre I think, and at the Harringay Club. Maybe a nice way to meet people? Also postnatal yoga at Hornsey Vale Community Centre.

I think there are some baby drop-ins at the children's centre on Priory Road, and one in Northbank House up in Muswell Hill.

Hope this helps a bit.

I know how you feel, I'm in the same boat. I live in Crouch End.
I have a 18 week old son, we also spend our days walking around the broadway.
Though Crouch End is very family orientated, I have found it difficult to meet other mums.

I have on occasion visited the baby group in Muswell Hill but can find that cliqish at times ( a lot of them from the same NCT group)

If you'd like to meet, I'll leave it up to you to decide the time and place.

There's also a nice children's centre on Nightingale Lane which has an under 1s baby group and various other drop ins.

You can go to local NCT coffee mornings even if you aren't a member and/or didn't go to a class.

I'd love to meet you but am back at work most of the time and my younger baby's a year older than yours. If you would like to try and meet at a drop in group one day in April or May we could try and organise something.
