Anyone tried The Nursery Shop in Abingdon?

Hi

I've had an advert through the door for The Nursery Shop in Abingdon. Has anyone been there, is it worth a trip to Abingdon?

I've had a look on their website and it looks like they do some good toys, anyone have any thoughts?

Are there any other baby shops in or around the Oxford area that you would recommend?

Thanks

Hi,

The Nursery shop in Abingdon is really nice, they have a good selection of Lamaze toys and the prices are okay.

The clothes are really cute but a little on the expensive side.

They have really cute toys, but the shop is not that large so its probably best to wait for another excuse to come to abingdon rather then making a specific trip.

Hope that helps

agreed - it's nice, but like all the smaller shops it can be pretty expensive for some things. It is worth a look, depends on how far you'd have to travel.

TwoFootNothing in the Covered Market has some lovely clothes and toys, £££ though.

agreee shop is small and selection can be limited, they don't have useful 'basics' like multipack clothes etc either

worth a visit to avoid paying postage on bulky stuff (pram, tripp trapp, stokke cot) or for extravagant gifts

if you want something specific ring in advance but they usually have a decent selection of wooden rattly things, Lamaze etc

agree Two Foot Nothing is lovely, mostly clothes and gifts though

Millets Farm has surprisingly good stuff for when they're older - Joules and Toby Tiger clothes and a lot of lovely outdoor / garden toys

TKMaxx at Cowley always has lots of baby stuff, but tbh Primark in Oxford beats everywhere hollow for basic clothes and blankets/towel;s etc

Hi

Thanks for all your replies. Sounds like it is worth a look, I like the look of some of the wooden toys on the website.

Hadn't thought of Millets Farm before, i'll definately check that out too!

They were brilliant when we bought our stuff from them four years ago. Their advice was fantastic and the couple of problems I've had have been sorted out quickly and efficiently. A friendly place too.

Not the cheapest, but their product knowledge is absolutely fantastic. I bought a pushchair from them after the one I bought from Mothercare died after only 6 months of use.

I try to avoid going in there - we always come out with something expensive! I got a fab pair of PJs for DS there by 'Their Nibs' which are stretchy jersey (cowboy design) and have lasted and lasted. Better than the Hartley ones you can get in the covered market TwoFootNothing (though that's also great for baby and toddler treats).

Last time I went into the Nursery Shop, I managed to escape with only two pieces of wooden fruit, so maybe my resistance is growing! Or might have had something to do with appalling baby music cds playing - Baby Goes ABBA, Baby Goes U2, etc.

Hi, if anyone's interested their summer sale is now on, all the clothes are reduced as well as some toys and other bits and pieces!
