Hi, we are thinking of moving over to Lower Clapton - currently in E8 and DD down to go to Shacklewell, but if we move over to Clapton I was wondering what schools she might go to/what catchment areas are like? Rushmore/Millfields/Daubney, etc - anyone got any experiences? Thank you!

We're upper Clapton and our local school is Southwold Primary - 2 years ago it got a bad Ofsted but it seems to be improving now and I hope it'll be good by the time our DD (now 21 mo) gets to school age. No idea about any of the other local ones though.

I don't know much about Clapton, but Rushmore was always good and seems consistently sought after. If you stick where you are though I've heard good things about Shacklewell recently. The new-ish head is apparently great and lots of parents seem very happy with it.

Millfields is a good school (despite not so good Ofsted recently). Quite a few of my neighbours' kids go there and are thriving... they really rate it!

Millfields just been re Ofsteded following poor Ofsted a year ago. Much has been done in last year to really improve teaching, and potential for standards to keep rising is high. It's a diverse and very happy school, set to continue improving.

Rushmore just got a really dodgy OFSTED Sad

So has everywhere now though - all the old favourites in N16 are down at 'satisfactory'! Go see it before deciding.

Agreed. 'Tis the only way.
