That's it really - anyone been to a local osteopath who is good with babies?

Bethan is SO sicky - some projectile - and i want to do something to help her. Im seeing the Health Visitor on monday, but to be honest i dont have a lot of faith in them and am willing to try anything.

By the way - owing to previous embarassment i cannot show my face again at Mersea Rd Osteopath Clinic - so dont suggest them - and dont ask for details!!!

Dr Bateman is a chiropractor at the zen clinic in Stanway. I've seen him and was very happy with him, I read that he treats babies too.

If she's really poorly get the gp to refer you to the hospital. Ask for Dr Tillett or Dr Turner, they are both superb paediatricians.

Thanks alouiseg. Having googled extensively - i dont think its pyloric stenosis - could be acid reflux. Will see what HV says then go to GP. I just wanted to do something non-invasive and non medicine based for her.

Its not the most local place, but I would highly recommend School House Osteopaths in Chelmsford. I took DS when he was a baby and then both DS and DD just after the summer for different things. They are really good with children and adults.

I hope things improve Pooter.

Hi Pooter,

Not too sure of any osteopaths locally as I use one in East Bergholt and Im not sure he treats babies.

However, DS had silent reflux and we found that infant gaviscon really helped him out, different baby after the first dose! Your GP can prescribe or refer you. Dr Cackett at the hospital has treated my friends twins with their awful reflux.

Perhaps your milk is too rich... sorry, saw the facebook comment xx

It's a little way from Colchester but I go to the Blackwater Clinic which is near Maldon (sort of Heybridge / Gt Totham) and they have both osteopaths and cranio-sacral therapists who work with babies.

Thanks everyone - i will make enquiries today.

I went to Top Notch last week as DD2 has started at Jo Jingles, and noticed in there that they do an Osteopathy clinic.

Can't personally recommend it though.

Did you see Tom...he is lovely.

pooter · 08/03/2010 21:05

no - saw your husband's namesake. He teaches other osteopaths how to treat babies - lucky or what! She was sick 5 times in the hour we were there!

I hope he has helped and that things start to improve. I presume he suggested what might be causing it and that it wasn't 'rich milk'.
