Hi
We have meetups every so often - probably due another soon and you would be more than welcome to come along. Im in Braiswick and have a 3yr old DS and a 12 day old DD.

Is your DS settling into school? Whereabouts in Wales have you moved from? My DH was born in Cardiff.

Mung · 04/03/2010 19:50

Hi. I hope you are enjoying living in Stanway and you are all settling in. I am not far away from you either and I'd be happy to meet up. I am not straying too far from home at the moment as I am due DC3 very soon.

It has been quite quiet on here recently, but normally we do get together quite frequently if we can...perhaps you'll trigger someone to arrange a meet up.

Do you drive? Have you tried the local Toddler Groups? There is one in Stanway on a Wednesday I think and also one in Copford on a Friday morning. I know the Copford one is quite friendly, as I used to go regularly when DS and DD were small.

I know what it is like moving when you have such a young child. I moved here when DS was 9 months old and I found it hard to meet people. I am from the area so I had friends here but they all worked and I really missed adult contact in the day. I really found the first meet up daunting, but once I had met everyone and knew their real names, it made life so much easier. I really hope you manage to meet more people as I imagine that it can be tough being so far from what you are familiar with.

Pooter I hope aranrea1 hasn't sent her 8 month old to school . Perhaps you'll be sending DD soon then

Hi aranrea,

I have one DS, 3 years, and DD is also 8 months. Am thinking of sending her to school soon too haha, sorry Pooter! Would be lovely to meet you. Am happy to host soon, will give me good excuse to tidy the place! I am in Kelvedon, so not too far. Do you drive?

Mung, when are you due? Hope you are feeling ok. Oh the memories of the last weeks of struggling to move around.

New strategy(sp?)for the HE'ers......Send the under 1's to school, and keep the Pre-schoolers at home. Now that would be interesting....

Hello Aranrea I live in Myland,Colchester, and have 3 DC's.We are a friendly group, and it would be nice to meet you soon.

Mung · 07/03/2010 10:03

Hi Nicki. Welcome to Colchester Mumsnet. We really ought to arrange a meet up some time soon so the new people can begin to meet some more local mums.

I can recommend an excellent music and moovement class that is on at the Hythe Community Centre. My children love it and have been going for a while now. Do you drive, as its not very central, but it is possible to get there by bus.

Hi Aranrea,

I too have moved from Wales to Stanway!!! and also 28. I have a 7 week old little girl called Poppy. It would be lovely to meet up, perhaps we could go to a baby/toddler group together? Let me know.

Katy
