I am currently living in London but we are thinking about moving to the area - Bishop's Stortford or possibly Stansted. It is close to my family but I don't know the area very well. Can anyone recommend a good area/streets that are close to the station, not far from the town centre and all the child friendly amenties. We have a 16 month old son. Any advice or information on the town would be gratefully received!
Thanks

Close to the station you want the Warwick Road area. The Avenue/Thorn Grove/Gilbey Avenue. Also the Wraglings is nice. Nothing under £500,000 I don't think though. You are within walking distance of the town as well. And excellent secondary schools (for future reference!) My children are older so I don't know about child-friendly places, sorry.

There is a soft-play place to the north of the town and the swimming pool. They would be near the Rye Street area but I don't know that very well.

hi claire, did you move to stortford in the end? we're close to the station, but on the South Street side. Also moved from London. we've found the area very child friendly so far - the swimming pool is our latest 'find', DS loves it.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. We are still undecided and as we are currently having difficulty selling our house we have left it on the back burner for the time being. Really interesting to know about possible areas though - thank you!
Will be in touch if we make the move!

Hi there.
I moved here 3 years ago from London. Have 2 girls, 3 and 5. Have not regretted a minute. Great schools, lovely people, child friendly. EVERYONE I know said that I would not be happy "in the sticks" but it suits us all. I am in walking distance of the station and town. If you want to know more you could go to rival netmums as they have a bigger group.. (shhhh)
Good luck. x
