Does anyone have a recommendation for a good cleaner or agency working in the BS7 postcode?

Don't use time for you!!! i would put cards up in the window/board in Joe's Bakery/launderette.

we use Skweeky Clean, 9554742.

They're not the cheapest agency, but they're efficient and pretty reliable and the guys they send are alright (although I'm still too embarrassed to be in the house at the time and have to go and hide if i'm not at work).

Also, they were the only agency I could find who seem to employ the cleaners properly, ie give them sick / holiday pay and pay NI for them. A lot of agencies take LOTS of your money and then you're meant to employ the cleaner or something, which means they are forced to work semi-legally, and probably aren't insured.

You can also choose whether they use your cleaning products or theirs, so if it's important to you not to have lots of chemicals, they can be quite flexible.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.
Good tip re Time for You as they were the only ones I had found to date and I was going to give them a call...
Not too sure about the cards in window idea though as they will have free-run of my house...

Unfortunately I have had a really bad experience with skweeky clean. I paid them a LOT of money to do what was described as a spring clean in my house. There were 3 people here, for most of the day. And my house was not filthy. Anyway, they promised me that they would clean behind the fridge, hoover behind the cot and children's beds etc, but none of these things were done.

They gave me a 'courtesy call' that evening to see how it had gone, and I said that I was rather dis-satisfied. They said they would look into it, then called me back to say they had spoken to the cleaners who said that they had cleaned behind the fridge etc, and basically accused me of being a liar.

So I emailed them the photos that I had taken when I had got home. I heard no more. Then the next day, with no warning, two people from the company, who I can only describe as 'heavies' turned up on my doorstep and demanded to see the places where I felt work had not been carried out properly. By that time I had cleaned myself (they hadn't even dusted mantlepieces for example) and again I was all but accused of lying. I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable in my own home.

In the end they cut one hour's work off my bill which was no where near enough but I felt so intimidated by them that I paid the rest, but I wouldn't use them again in a million years.
