A day at the Gerrards Cross Summer School is almost as good as a day of body pampering.
At the end of July and beginning of August Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre has a wealth of courses from which to choose. As a past participant, the whole day is a brilliant feat of organisation with one of the highlights being the excellent lunch included in the price. Lots of the activities have an artistic or craft focus - but there are many others. The advantage of doing a day course is you only have to clear one day in your diary - or one day where the children are busy elsewhere. The travel costs and time are small compared with a short course where you might need to travel to and from a location 3 times to get the same amount of teaching. My DH enjoyed his 'Bluff your way in Wine' last year - and he is not the sort to go to courses in general!
The brochure for this year came out this February and courses fill up fast - you can see the list at www.gerrardscrosssummerschool.co.uk/ss2010programme/index.html
I think I fancy the one on relaxation and yoga - I wonder if my body is up to it??
