Hi

I have just moved up to Gosforth (near South Gosforth Metro)from London with my husband and 3 year old daughter Sarah-Jane. We are looking for playgroups and activities to keep ourselves entertained - can anyone recomend anywhere fairly local - also looking for any new friends who want to come around or meet for coffee or in park etc.

Also any advice on the local nurseries as we have been to gosforth private day nursery and going to elmfield today for a look around.

There is Tumble Tots at the cricket club behind the shopping precinct and there is also a baby/toddler group on at the church next to Loch Fyne, the name of which I can't remember, might be Trinity church. There are a few other groups around, mostly ran by local churches, St Charles as well has a group a few days a week, which is by the Northern Rock buildings. Not sure if you can access it, but there is a Sure Start centre not far from you in Kenton which is at the side of Mountfield school as well. I use it and it is lovely. I'm pretty sure they take people from most areas.

You have picked a fantastic place to live..especially with children, there are so many things going on. Trinity Church on the high street has lot's of activities for pre school children. There are 2 fantastic todler groups one at St Aidan's Community Centre, Brunton Park have a look at www.newcastletoddlers.co.uk and there is also a group meets at All Saints church just behind the high street every Tuesday at around 1pm. I run a pre school music group called Musical Minis, we have a class every Monday morning at 10am at St Aidan's community Centre Brunton Park our website is www.musicalminis.co.uk
I hope you find somewhere!
Debbie
