Just had it confirmed that baby is breech. I think Iprefered it when it was called transverse, but midwife said that the head is now higher than the bum

Anyway, she suggested having some moxibustion, which is apparently done by an acupuncturist.

Any recommendations?

oh pants

sorry - no personal recommendations, just that i really believe in acupuncture - tried chinese medicine when at uni in Newcastle, and they gave me a bit of acupuncture at the same time - it was great.

Try asking in the priory centre down by the library they are a fab resource for alternative type stuff.

Or life force here might be able to recommend someone

Oh what a pain! Don't worry Mung you will get that pesky little one round the right way before the big day.

I have a friend at school that has used an acupuncturist in Colchester and was really happy with it. I'll nab her tomorrow and find out who it was.

In the mean time I think you need to do lots of stuff on your hands and kness but you probably know that already...

There are some really good yoga moves for breech babies as well. Have a look on google or go along to one of those prenatal yoga classes??

xx

Thanks Lucyfer. My yoga teacher is goign to send me some things, as we have no class next week. I am hopeful that the little one will turn...lets face it...it has loads of space!

I was told scrubbing your kitchen floor makes them turn, you know head down, bottom in the air!!
My floor never looked so clean when I was expecting Emily!

Sadly Sarah was Transverse, but wasn't told that until I was 38.5 weeks,so ended up with CS.
I'm sure you have time though...I gather reflexology is good for that too,so I've heard.

I went for some shiatsu yesterday and it was great. I would highly recommend it. She is going to use the moxa sticks next week on my pressure points to try and get the baby to turn. She also talked about possible positions and pointed out that it was only worth doing the positions suggested if the baby was awake and moving...which makes sense! So scrubbing the floors might not work out to be correct timing .
