Join parents and children from across the city at a rally for educationat 4.15-5pm on 9 February outside the City Chambers. You might have heard press reports that, following pressure from parents, the City Council is preparing to reduce budget cuts next year. But a proposed cut of 1% is still £10,000 less for an average primary school and £40,000 for larger secondary schools. It comes on top of existing cuts of 1.5% which means that schools will still have 2.5% less to spend next year. AND we are still facing much more dramatic cuts in the two following years. We need to let councillors know that school budget cuts are simply not acceptable. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday at 4.15pm, with banners, colourful clothes and musical instruments!
