Hi ladies
Just wondered if anyone knew of a good (cheap but nice) hotel in the city centre?
DH and I are going out for dinner with friends and then to a friends leaving night and as I go back to work on Monday after mat leave wanted to make a night of it and stay in town somewhere. From East Kilbride but dont have a clue about town or hotels!
Thanks ladies x

Within taxi distance from city center so have never needed a hotel. Have you tried late rooms. com? Decent prices and you can see other customers reviews and photos too so may give you some ideas?

What kind of budget are you talking? There is a travel lodge near caley uni so still city centre but might be a 10-15 min walk?! here. Or the Holiday Inn on stockwell st, thistle hotel on Cambridge St.

Try late rooms with your prefered date, some real bargains to be had.

Thanks guys Iv had a look on laterooms used to use that all the time completely forgot about it! Some good prices there is a secret room where you dont find out where you have booked till you have paid and its 4 star for £50 - might end up doing that but then worried incase its not a nice place lol

oh I am intrigued with the secret room you mentioned!

We will be looking for a room in feb for DP's birthday (baby free night and if we stay at home we will only end up doing housework)

Laings is not bad either but haven' t been there in ages.

As for secret room: you can sometimes figure it out looking at city centre map of hotels and details they give of the hotel. Tha t might set your mind at ease a bit.

Enjoy the night!

Also if you google part of the description of the "secret" hotel you can quite often come up with the actual hotel! :D

I used to work in the Novotel on Pitt Street. Very central, lovely rooms and (when I was there) great staff. You can get deals on Late Rooms, and also on their own website: hotel.
Hope this helps.
