DD's beloved Nelly is on her last legs, I literally cannot sew her together anymore. Nelly is (or was once) a pale pink and white elephant from H&M Kids in Churchill Sq - I bought her early 2007 I think, maybe late 2006. Long time ago I know, and this is a long shot, but if anyone bought one of these elephants, or knows of anyone that has one that isn't in use, please, please, please can I buy it?! We are not ready for Nelly to go to the big toyshop in the sky just yet.....

Thanks and crossed fingers!

But the new one won't be Nelly.

I think both you and dd need to let go. These are nice little early lessons in loss and it's wrong to deny children this learning.

I know that's not what you want to hear. Sorry.

Sorry you lost Nelly My ds lost a special monkey and we never found him again. He was sad for a while but we told him he had gone to a good home. He quickly forgot him.

Hope you manage to get a replacement.

Oh gawd... I'm not ready to let her go! DD is so attached. She's been waking in the night and getting upset because Nelly's stuffing keeps falling out, and on the occasions I have left her at home when DD at nursery, or even when we've just been shopping, she get v upset. But then that is more reason to break the attachment I suppose.... eeeek!

Maybe I'll try and phase her out while we still have her, and just keep patching up the holes in the mean time...... unless someone comes along with a spare Nelly

Thanks for your replies x
