Any Oxfordshire mums (especially working mums) expecting a baby (I'm expecting my second) in [mid] May 2010?
Would love to know if there is anyone else out there!

Hi, my second baby is due early June, but quite likely to actually arrive mid to late May. Where in oxfordshire are you? I'm near Abingdon

I'm near Wheatley. Abingdon is south I think, we have recently moved from Banbury so we are quite "north" oxfordshire up until our house move. Is there a good link to social groups / NCT groups or similar for May 2010 babies I wonder. Just putting out enquiries really. I have missed a few of my midwife appointments due to house move so not sure about where to have the baby etc yet

Ah, Wheatley is nice but I don't know anything about groups and stuff around there I'm afraid. Where did you have your first baby? I suppose your options would be home, The Spires or JR delivery suite. I don't have any choices to make on that front as it has to be consultant led for me (although had a good experience at the JR last time so not too worried about it).

I'm near Abingdon too. Don't know anything happening in Wheatley off the top of my head, but NCT is so big in Oxon that if you look on NCT website you'll be able to see where your local group is and join something. You might want to look around for toddler groups to go to while on maternity leave too x (Not currently pg but DC age 7, 5, 3 & 6 months. I'm always consultant led so have had all babies at JR, which has been fine. If I had the choice I'd have had homebirths, which in Oxon are well supported.)

Hello both, I live south oxon and am due Mid-May with #3! I don't know about groups either (was a bit lazy with #2 and didn't really bother going to any) but there are NCT groups for Wallingford, Oxford, Abingdon, and although it's not on their website there's one for Watlington area too. When you get a HV they should have info about local mum&baby groups.

A few south oxon MNers have met up on occasion but we haven't done it in ages (as far as I know!!).

Wallingford has a midwife-only birthing unit, worth having a look, or the Spires unit at the JR is also midwife-run (soft lighting, bean bags etc.). I had a homebirth last time and am hoping for the same again.

Thanks for the replies, i had a c section with my first and have a consultant appointment at the end of the month where I expect they will want to discuss c section for this my second. Today I feel a lot of nausea which is a pain, i thought i had got over the sickness (or the majority of it) in the first few months and should be beyond that at 23 weeks but apparently not today. Anyway enough of the moaning, thanks for you replies, sounds like there is a lot going on so I must do some research

Hi there, I live in central-ish Oxford and am also having my second baby in May, I have a 13 month old baby daughter already - eek am going to have my hands full! I'm working, so just feel I haven't had a second to go to any groups or NCT this time, so am hoping I will meet some fellow mums at local toddler groups and childrens' centres etc in Oxford, (providing I'm up to leaving the house soon after #2 is born!) So yes would be happy to hear of anything you all have going on.
