Roots and Fruits on Byers Road are nice.

Haven't been over since Waitrose opened. Is it worth the trip Aitch? (I sometimes hang out in the West End on a Wed afternoon before school comes out as we are Music Lessoning that day!)

this looks quite good.

New Year healthy eating resolution might force me to try it once, actually.

That's what we've been thinking about

I've also found two other companies that serve Glasgow:

damhead.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8&Itemid=14

www.growwild.co.uk/organic-groceries/

lol yes, waitrose absolutely offensively expensive. we used to get a veg box but jeeesus christ the root veg... it was from a gang at the farmer's market, i forget the name.

weegiemum · 29/12/2009 23:57

Is it offensively expensive but worth going for a look??

< thinks about £50 John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers my parents gave us for Christmas .....>

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 30/12/2009 00:09

yes, deffo, it's vair pritty. actually the deli counter always has an excellent cold meats offer, but apart from that i swear you won't be able to bring yourself to buy much. (well, i can't at any rate).

weegiemum · 30/12/2009 00:13

Maybe you shoudl come with me and hold my vouchers so I don't spend them all !

giraffesCanDanceAtHogmanay · 30/12/2009 01:39

I would be happy to "look after" your vouchers for you

We used this company when we lived in Glasgow. The variety was ok and they grow most of it so the 'airmiles' issue wasn't too bad. And it's probably still cheaper than Waitrose

weegiemum · 30/12/2009 07:43

girrafes!!

HerMomminess · 31/12/2009 19:57

How sad...MN-ing on Hogmanay!! However I just discovered the 'local' Glasgow link.

Fantabudozy!!

Anyway: I can' t recommend Growwild enough. We have been with them for over 2 years. Run by a girl called Lindsay. The meat is amazing. The service and personal touch delightful.

However- it is expensive, eg compared with Tesco shop&drop. Don' t know how long we can sustain it on almost no mat pay!

Happy 2010!
