and really well-priced at four quid or so for kids and eight for adults (twenty quid for two and two). lovely, lovely story, really funny, great cast, beautiful music and only 55 mins long so no time to fiddle about.

they were sooooo great with dd, it was her birthday and they wished her a happy birthday at the top of the show and then made a fuss of her afterwards. she was thrilled, and more to the point as parents we didn't want to open a vein cos of the general crapness of kiddie shows.

2 questions

a) chances of ds (2.5) sitting through it?

b) parking?

Tempted to book for tomorrow afternoon..

geordieminx · 23/12/2009 14:46

Scrap that.

Sold out

AitchTwoToTangOh · 23/12/2009 21:08

v high chance of ds sitting through it, the show is pitched v much at that age, esp if you sit at the front.
bad news about the booking but it's well worth going in the week. parking would be a doddle in at st enoch's i'd have thought.

Thanks Aitch, have booked tickets for Sunday, thought it would be something nice to fill in Sunday a bit after all of the excitement of xmas/family visiting.

Just realised its right next to Central, so will probably get the train.

Thanks once again.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 23/12/2009 22:17

technically it's right under central.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 23/12/2009 22:23

ah, well you probably went in the back way, then. seriously, the door is on the hielanman's umbrella, just opposite the entrance to the lower level.

That's great to hear, I'm going with my 2 boys (3 and 7) on Tuesday

Nyx · 26/12/2009 14:50

Is it a panto - audience participation and all that?

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 26/12/2009 15:16

nope, nyx. it's a play, but there is plenty of mugging to the audience iykwim? singing but no sing-songs.

Nyx · 26/12/2009 15:19

I think I'll take dd

Thanks!

Nyx · 28/12/2009 00:47

We went this afternoon (Sunday) and you're right - it's fab! Thanks Aitch for recommending it on here

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 28/12/2009 22:50

you're welcome! i should have put it on the mn thing proper but who can be fagged with all the stuff you have to fill in?

geordieminx · 29/12/2009 19:33

Ooh NYX - We were there too.

Who were you????

geordieminx · 29/12/2009 19:35

We were at the 3.30?

ssd · 29/12/2009 19:37

is an 11 yr old ds who thinks he's 15 be too old for this?

BTW, Aladdin at the kings is brilliant

geordieminx · 29/12/2009 19:43

Its lovely, but he might be a bit old for it. Lots of toddlers, up to about 8? There are only 4 actors, and no effects or anything, just a woman standing at the side with a stick with a bee dangling from it?

Take him to the irn-bru carnival instead

Nyx · 29/12/2009 19:43

Geordieminx - we went to the 3.30 as well! It was me, my twin sister and my dd (3.11) - we sat in the second row right at the left (great seats). Who were you?? [GRIN]

Nyx · 29/12/2009 19:46

Ahem.

(didn't know it was case-sensitive)

geordieminx · 29/12/2009 20:00

As you went in, up the steps we were second row on the right, were we in the same row?

Did my dh give your little girl a sweetie?

Nyx · 29/12/2009 20:22

YES! LOL. Well, somebody did anyway and I assume it must have been your DH - wish I'd looked a bit closer at the family now!

geordieminx · 29/12/2009 20:26

Yup that was dh, and ds was the one who put his feet up for you to get past. Pics on profile.

Very small world!!

Nyx · 29/12/2009 21:25

It is a small world, eh? LOL. It was my sister and my dd who squeezed past you - I had nipped into my seat the other way.

I'm loving the photos on your profile btw - I especially love 'you won't like me when I'm angry' - what a cracking pic!

BaDaBing · 03/01/2010 19:59

Went today and it was great! Very impressed and ds (3.5) loved it.
