Hi everyone, I'm new to Mumsnet and am hoping for some advice/guidance from you!

I am expecting my first baby (a girl) in March and have lived in Bounds Green for about 18 months. I moved to London over 10 years ago but many of my fiends have moved away now and my closest friends and family have remained in the Midlands. As such I don't have much of a support network...

I am really excited about becoming a Mum but do have pangs of anxiety that me and my babe are going to be a bit isolated! I have just passed my driving test so we are at least mobile and I'd love to meet some Mums and babies for us to become friends with.

I am starting maternity leave on February 18th (edd March 18th) and would like to join some groups before and after the baby comes.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sorry for the long post, J x

Hiya
Was interested in your post as I live in Bounds Green too and am due in Feb. I haven't tried any classes yet so can't really recommend anything for now but am thinking of trying a few yoga classes before the birth and then some baby yoga after.

Hello Jobaker and Febbaby,

I have just joined mumsnet as my first baby is due late feb. I live in Enfield but can easily travel to Bounds Green.
I was looking into pregnancy yoga too and am planning to try the classes in Grange Park Thursdays 6pm . Are either of you interested in coming too? They appear to be cheaper than most I have looked at and there is a voucher on the website giving the first lesson free. www.yogaenfieldnorthlondon.co.uk
I also plan to go to aqua-nateal classes once I have stoppped work in Feb, but not sure where yet.

Best wishes,

KGa

Hi both
I am still working and can't get to Grange Park by 6pm in the evening unfortunately, but thinking of doing some classes after I've given in birth if you interested in that? Perhaps yoga and baby massage, that type of thing.

Hello both,

Yes, that sounds good to me. I would be up for yoga and baby massage once the baby is old enough (6 weeks I think).
Let me know if you would like to meet up for lunch or anyhting before that. I have just stopped work this week and it feels very strange waiting around for the baby to come.

I'ld be up for lunch. I have now had my baby. Are you still waiting for yours to arrive? Lunch would be good either way. I am around most lunch times over the next 2 weeks so let me know.
