Does anybody live in Woodingdean?

I'm moving from Kemp Town to Woodingdean on the 3rd of Jan. I'm excited as it seems such a lovely area but I'm a little nervous as it will be the first time I've ever lived alone with DS. (6 months old DS and I are moving from a shared house to our own flat.) I don't drive so feel like I will be quite far away from all my friends as they mostly live in Hove / Portslade.

I return to work in March but before then I'd love it if anyone in Woodingdean would like to meet up or recommend things for me and DS to do. I know there is a pool, do they have mother and baby sessions? Are there any mother and baby groups that anyone knows of? DS and I are moving to Lockwood Close near to the big park.

TIA

Hellooo!! There is a Mother & Toddlers group at the local community centre on a Thursday morning (although probably not during the school holidays). This is located close to the Library at the back of the car park there. THere also used to be a church run 'Caterpillar Club' on a Tuesday, but it's quite a while since I had pre-schoolers, so I'm not sure if that still runs.

The local pool usually opens during the summer time from late morning until about 5.30pm, but doesn't do mother & baby sessions. It rather fills up with school children once the local primary comes out just after 3.00pm.

The local library does do sessions I think, but you will need to pop in there to find out. It opens on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and the librarians are lovely and helpful.
