Alternatives to nursery

Hi - I've got 5 month old twins and have just moved to Cheltenham from London. I'm planning to set up on my own and work from home when they're over 9 months but the cost of putting them both in nursery has scared the daylights out of me & DH. Are there any alternatives?
Could anyone suggest where to look for childminders or recommend one?

My CM is in Brockworth and fab (also the local network head so may know of spaces) but that may be the wrong side of town? She charges about £3.50ph IIRC

I spoke to the local council and they provided me with a list of CM

Good luck

Thanks Sazzles .. What's IIRC ?
We're the Hales Rd end of town - if she's this end could you pass on her details?

Sorry it's 'If I Remember Correctly', not technical childminding pay speak

She is probably the wrong side of Town for you. I found her using the Direct Gov site which lists local CM's and nurseries. I know a little of TreeTops on the Bath Rd which is a nursery whick some seem to like and others are lukewarm about

This is the local meetup thread too if you are interested?

I also go to a singing/signing class on a Weds at Leckhampton village hall which is lovely if you want to meet new people in the area
Congrats on the twins BTW and good luck with the business
