Childminders, Muswell Hill

Any one with suggestions for childminders in Muswell Hill? We've tried the local councils' lists which aren't too full of options anyway, but word of mouth is always better... We're just moving to Muswell Hill, near the golf course, and have a 9 month old baby, plus a 5 year old (so someone who could do also school pickups wpuld be ideal).

Tips for other good baby and kid stuff to do in Muswell Hill would be good too....!

Hi Eglington - it may be too late for you, but have you tried Linda Symons on Sydney Road (which I think is near you)? She runs what is effectively a small nusery called Kidz Kabin, which is lovely (my DD has been there for the last year and a bit). Not sure what availability she has at the mo. Her details are on the childcarelink website (under her name, not "Kidz Kabin").

Hello. Do you live in Muswell Hill? Can you recommend good childminders or creches in the Area.
We're just about to move into our new house in one of the Lake Roads (just off Alexandra Park Road). Our baby is due 10 July, but so many people have warned of long waiting lists, so we want to try and get organised now. I've searched for Kidz Kabin/Linda Symons but could not find her online.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
A

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and living in Muswell Hill. I currently work three days a week as an administrator for a study abroad college in Holborn but am looking for some extra work on Mondays and Fridays to help us save before baby arrives (early August)...

If I can be of any help to a family nearby I would be interested to meet. I am a qualified secondary school teacher which, although doesn't demonstrate my capacility with little ones, it does at least show that I love young people and am trustworthy (I have CRB checks from my most recent school and also our church, as I assist my husband there with the youth work).

Also, a separate question... Does anyone know if there are any mothers' fairs due in the local area? Jumble sale type events specifically for parents looking for baby/childrens' products and clothes? Or a list of classifieds that can be emailed around in the local area?

Many thanks,
F

To ARmumtobe
Have a look at Nannyshares (nannyshare.co.uk and thenanysharers.co.uk) and the ads on haringeyfamilies.co.uk

To DaisiesFlo
There is a Nearly New Sales on Saturday 19th March from 10.30am at St Georges Hall. Check the details at
www.haringeyfamilies.co.uk/Default.aspx?linkId=26
You can also register on freecycle.
