car parking in the town?

Coming across from the west on saturday.

We normally (once a year) park in the castle keep car park on lothian road.

With all the tram stuff is it still possible to drive along Gorgie/Dary Road, and then take a left at the Hilton and straight into the car park or will I get diverted via Berwick or somewhere?

Any advice would be appreciated.

You should be fine. All the disruptions are at Haymarket and Shandwick place. However, if you come up past Fountainbridge and onto Lothian road, there are no disruptions.

Argh, its Shadwick place we usually come along. Not really familiar with fountaibridge - normally just follow the A71 from the bypass straight in

Come in the same way but detour onto Western Approach Road. Take a left at the lights (at McDonalds)on Gorgie Road onto Westfield Road. Turn right onto Western Approach Road. Will bring you out onto Lothian Road where you want to take a left then first right onto Castle Terrace.

Not too much of a detour and probably quicker anyway .

The Castle Street car park is the most expensive one in town!

NCP at John Lewis is much cheaper and I heard on the radio that they are doing free parking on Sundays in town to get folk coming back after the tram disruptions. (I would check the exact details though, I cna't remember them off the top of my head....)

No idea re the deiversions etc now that Princes Street is re-opened for Christmas, sorry!!

We parked in Castle Keep... we are loaded... no not really, its just coming from Glasgow, we know how to get there, and more importantly how to get out again, without it ending in divorce/loss of a limb/locking toddler in boot.

It was fine, came in via Morrison street, think it cost about £8, which is probably what we pay in Buchannan Street.
