How terrible that your LOs have experienced rascism, how old are they? I moved to Soton in 1997 as a student and stayed, one of the reasons being I love the melting pot of different cultures here.

Are you familiar at all with the area? I've lived all over the city but I currently live in St Denys which fairly multi-cultural and has loads of young families. The primary school is fab. Nearby Portswood is the same and the primary school is one of the Times top 500.

I love St Denys as we are walking distance (or 1 train stop) from the city centre and also near the common and can be on the M27/M3 in 5 minutes.

I second Portswood, mix of cultures and fab school.
