Moulsecoomb?

Anyone got any opinions on it?

Looking at moving asap and have seen a nice flat there, but don't know much about the area. We had a bit of a wander, but woyuld like opinions from people who actually know the place?

It is a big estate on the edge of brighton and has lots of students now as it is accessible to the uni.It had a bit of a reputation years ago but I think its better now and stanmer park is lovely.Where is the flat?

not particularly near shops or station; bus routes and car access are good. Schools seem reasonable but uninspiring - my TA friend says there is minimal support from home.

Um, in a word - don't!
Moulsecoomb is an area of high deprivation. It is mainly lived in by what some might call chavs, plus a heavy prinkling of students. Some parts of it are ok, but it is the second worst place to live in Brighton (whitehawk being the worst).
The primary school is great (very nurturing, small classes), but it has to be - many of the children come to school with no coats because their parents can't afford them or don't care. The social services office is kept very busy, as are the police. Lots of yobs, unkempt houses, poverty, petty crime.
I can speak from experience having lived there back in the day. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Selsfield Drive btw, is the road where one of the broithers behind the New Forest Lapland experience lives - he is currently in court on deception/fraud charges. That pretty much sums up the place.
If you have a choice, really, don't go there.

Apols from anyone who does live there, but I am speaking from experience and not exaggerating...
