Edinburgh Leisure to close remaining creches - please act

Edinburgh Leisure have announced this week that they're going to close the remaining four creches across the city. If this affects you, please act.

Also, a planned DEMO - bring friends, family, face painted kids, balloons, home made banners, petitions etc. to our protest outside council chambers on the High Street between 09.30 and 10.30am on THURSDAY 17TH DECEMBER when councillors will be arriving for the last full council meeting of the year. Last time round, the protest was covered by local and national news - online, in print, radio and tv news programmes - the higher the publicity, the greater chance we have of councillors putting pressure on Edinburgh Leisure to back down.

I heard about this yesterday at Gracemount. The creche worker was so upset at the closures next March. Gracemount and Portobello are so popular as well.

I have signed the petition. What a disgrace that this is happening.

I really feel for them, actually - they've already been through this once before 18 months ago. They're being so professional about it, though - have admiration for them in spades.
