With the back pitches no longer available, where is the best place to park when you are going to a rugby match at Murrayfield? We'll be coming acorss from Glasgow and need to get away fairly promptly (going to the Glasgow Gang show that night), so I itld dh I'd ask on Mumsnet for advice.

You might be quicker parking at the airport and taking the bus due to roadworks/tram developments. Bus lane usually faster at the weekend.

park and ride at riccarton is fairly handy too. but personally i would get the train to haymarket

Train wouldn't work because of needing to get back quickly. The annoying thing is that a friend has just moved from close by - otherwise we could have parked in his driveway!

I'm sure you can use the zoo car park at this time of the year, will cost about £5 but is walking distance

I used to live in Gorgie and there were always lots of people parked there whenever anything was on at Murrayfield. There is a wee lane cuts through from the back of Wheatfield Road, to Stevenson Road (think that's what it's called) and then it's a short walk from there.

Thanks mawbroon.

BTW - have you seen the thread about a Scottish meet-up?

OMG prettybird. Sorry, I answered on this thread without realising you had started it!!

I've had a quick look at the meet up thread, but we have been ill for 8 weeks so I am reluctant to commit just now, because knowing my luck we will be ill for another 8!!

Sorry to hear you have not been well. Hope you feel better soon!
