Lone Parent Support Glasgow

Are there any lone parents out there who would be interested in getting together with other lone parents for support/chat on issues/challenges faced as a lone parent?

I am fairly new to parenthood and still finding my feet on my own and would love to meet with other local single parents on occasion, perhaps arranging days out etc at the weekends.

Hey lady, not much help on the lone-parent front but I'm free for a coffee anytime.

RHG I had no idea you were a single parent.

I'd be up for coffee too, especially if geordie's gorgeous ds is coming along, and I still haven't had a cuddle with little RHG!

I have a couple of good friends who are single parents of slightly older girls, if that would help - I could ask at least one of them what there is for people in your situation.

My mum brought my sister and I am alone as our "dad" left when I was 21 months and my sis was 3 months.

I understand what you are saying - weekends/evenings must be difficult for you.

Am free next week though - what about you weegiemum?

Thanks Ladies :-)

Weegi, would be interested to know if your pals are part of any single parent groups etc.. or what they did when their kids were younger. thanks :-)

I can make tuesday afternoon (24th) if anyone is free then. Maybe meet at the peoples palace?

Sorry missed this, have been ill again.

Wondered, RHG, if you wanted to have a teatime meetup - my dh is away 2-3 nights a week and you and little dd would be welcome to come for afternoon and stay and eat with us if you liked? My dd2 in particular is desperate for a baby but not getting one and she loves having little ones around!

If you fancy it?

Hi Weegiemum, I have been full of a cold the last few days and Lily had a bit of an off tummy too, so would probably have cancelled..

Thanx for the invitation - would be lovely to pop over for a cuppa one afternoon - Lily is usually in her for 6ish though as she is quite bad sleeping during the day, so she is exhausted by 5 usually!! Could make Tues or Wed next week if you are free? I'll pm you my phone no etc.

Cheers
RHG

RHG I'm not a single mum either, but DP is working in London all week at the moment, so sometimes it feels a but that way. I get to about Thursday adn feel I might explode if I can't find a grown-up to talk to .

Am up for a meet-up sometime. Tues/Thurs good for us.
