Can someone recommend a cheap removal company

In one month we are moving houses within the CB1 area.I wonder whether someone has ever used a cheap removal company. We need help with the furniture most of which is not heavy (IKEA). Most of the companies charge more than £100.00 and we cannot afford it. WOuld be grateful for any suggestions.

We moved this year within same area - used getamover.co.uk to find our company, they were excellent but more than £100 (but that was with full packing service and a fair bit of dismantling/reassembly). They were not the cheapest quote we were given via this website, so perhaps you could try it and see what it throws up. Failing that, the local paper usually has 'man with a van' adverts?

We moved from just off Mill Road to the Castle Hill area of town in August and used Bonar & Sons. They were very happy to take apart furniture one end and put it together the other end. They were about £600.

I have seen man with a van notices around town, particularly near the Round Church part of town, advertising a man with a van. I suspect they are targeting the students but don't see why you couldn't use them too.

Thank you for your suggestions. We will probably hire a big van and move everything by ourselves. We will have one week to move out. Hiring a moving company is not going to be cheap for us as we have furniture, toys, books.
