Babysitting circle?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a babysitting circle in Caversham?

I suppose they are hard to set up from scratch as people have to learn to trust one another but in an ideal world it would be great to be part of one so that my husband and i can go out every so often and we can return the favour for other families in Caversham.

Perhaps im living in cloud cuckooland hoping for this to exist!!? Any advice?

think there where a couple of posts on local netmums from elder women looking for babysitting jobs to fill there time if that would suit you xx its a good idea but like you said its hard to build trust in someone enough to care for your kids, i wouldnt dare inflict for 4 tinkers on anyone but close family, lol x

Hi

not sure if anything came of this but it's a GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!

The baby/toddler/mums group that I was part of used to do this and we had a 'ticket' system. We all had 8 tickets to begin with. We wrote our name on them. So when person A babysat for person B, person B would give person A a signed ticket. The ticket system ensured that everyone had the same number of sitter opportunities and also we could track how it was working. We all knew that we were aiming to receive 8 tickets for it to be fair (thought his was flexible).

it worked well.
