Hi, I am pregnant with my second child. I had my ds at the Princess Royal in Haywards Heath, but wasnt overly impressed and have heard so many second time pregnancy bad experience stories from there im thinking of trying Worthing this time. Thanks x

Had both my babies in Worthing - the last one 6 months ago and found it great. My SIL gave birth there a month ago and again though it was lovely.

She thought about both hospitals and toured worthing before making up her mind - apparently, they don't do tours at Brighton.

I have heard good and bad stuff about both so it really is a personal thing though - go with your gut. I doubt you'll be regretting the choice during the birth - you won't have time!!

Good luck!

I had DS2 at Worthing Hospital and it was fine. I felt very supported by the staff and the whole environment was quite nice.

DS1 I had in Brighton and never would have returned there.

Good luck and congratulations

Yes, I had ds at Worthing hospital, a water birth, which went very well. The staff were helpful too. I had dd at RSCH, which wasn't intentional as I was hoping for a home birth, but she wanted to come early! It was fine in the end, I had heard horror stories about RSCH, but my experience was overall a positive one.

Best of luck

Have had 3 at Princess Royal (2 in same room!) - 1st 2 were induced but natural deliveries, went into labour naturally 3rd time but ended up with emergency cs... I've been very happy with the care there with all 3. (Although should add I did pay for private room (and espec, bathroom!)asap after each birth.

I quite liked the familiarity of same hospital after the first time.

No experience of Worthing apart from a 4 hour wait in their godawful a&e...

I've had three babies at Worthing. Lots of friends and colleagues and relatives have had their babies there too. No complaints (in the grand scheme of NHS - would like better food and my own room but hey!) In terms of clinical care and feeling that I had choices, no complaints at all. Good luck whatever you decide.

Don't go to the RSCH unless you have to imho

If you have to, ask if MollyMaids can come and clean it for you
If you can have food delivered
If you can bring your own labour ward staff (for when the ratios are fecked)
If you can leave asap with precious newborn
