So, who's been?

I have been once on my own in the morning, when it was blissfully quiet and I was in heaven, all the books are new, you heck the books out yourself, hardly anyone was there...

And then, my second trip, today after shool with DS, it is heaving (mostly with his shoolmates) I am still there (thankfully brought my laptop) DS is buried in a Horrid Henry book and there are kids all around.

It is very exciting!

If you haven't been yet, go!!

It is much more spacious isn't it jumpjockey?

so if the coffe cheaper in the library cafe? I have never ventured up to the cafe, can't afford to buy coffee when out and about usually.

I can report, live from the library at this very moment, that it is cold in here and they need to get their heating on

omdb - do you remember the old cafe was just that tiny room at the top of the building where the coffee was basically nescafe and you could get a jacket potato on a paper plate and that was it? Much better now and definitely cheaper than starbucks or any of my usual under-cover baby feeding haunts

Not that the quality of the cafe in any way determines how good a library is of course , but if you're going to have one it may as well be good.

Hope the escalator isn't driving you insane!

overmydeadbody · 05/10/2009 11:56

Yes the old cafe was shocking wasn't it? Glad to hear the new one is better!

I am leaving the library now, the escalator is a kind of slow torture actually and I am getting hungry...

I hadn't realised it had opened and it is open on a Sunday as well, thanks for posting this overmydeadbody. I think we have read pretty much everything there is to read in Royston library.

WouldntTouchThemWithYours · 05/10/2009 20:38

I went in last week on the day that it opened and it's fab.

Haven't had chance to check out the film booths or cafe yet but am hoping to venture in tomorrow before all the freshers discover it!

Ferncottage · 06/10/2009 14:32

it's marvellous - I use the Cambridgeshire Collection for work quite a lot - but I agree about the lights

goldenpeach · 15/10/2009 21:33

It is lovely. We went on a day trip. The children's space is fab.
Unfortunately we can't find a house to rent nor buy in town.

coolma · 31/10/2009 07:59

Finally went last Sunday - brilliant! And I even managed to check my books out myself. Felt very technological!!

goldenpeach · 06/11/2009 20:28

Any meet up happening at the library, fingers crossed we might have found a house to rent.

goldenpeach · 23/11/2009 11:45

All right, we are in Cambridge now, any meetup at the library? Couldn't see any posters on rhyme times or other activities.
