Had a look around at Open Doors a few weeks ago but didn't actually put my hand in the water. Did look nice but then it was a sunny day.

I have swam there twice as a member's guest (went last week) - it was a lovely temperature, cold when you get out, but then there's a sauna, jacuzzi etc to warm up in. I left my baby at the side of the pool and after I swam, I tried her in it but sadly she objected. I'm thinking about getting winter membership myself . .

I'm thinking about taking the plunge too! Went for a look and a dip the other day, and - yes - it's chilly but refreshing. I'm imagining that the sensation of going from the pool to a yummy sauna will be well worth it on a dark wintry afternoon..... maybe see you there?!

Its a lovely day time retreat but I would not recommend it for an evening meal 8 of us had upset tummys the staff r lovely but meals are "set" no room for flexibility & a definate no for kids !!! Lovely for coffee morning & meeting up & I am lucky its 5 mins walk from my house !! They say u cannot get a better facial massage than here!!

Is the cafe baby friendly during the day?

belgo · 07/11/2009 17:02

Dh used to live in that area of Clifton but that was years ago before the lido opened.

We are going to Bristol for Christmas, do you think the lido will be just too cold between Christmas and New Year?

joyfull · 12/11/2009 22:07

I joined!

I'd say it's worth braving a chilly moment or 2 - the sauna and hot tub make up for it well. When it's cold the water is all steamy and it's very pretty I'm loving my night-swims!

I'm jealous!! Yes it's very baby friendly in the day time - great coffee and green tea and yummy cakes - a bit on pricey side but friendly and relaxed venue for coffee and chats. Love the sound of the facial massage . . . !!
