Urgent - Ridgeway v St Peters

beckstar24 · 08/09/2009 20:21

We were all set to start Ridgeway on Thursday after not getting a place anywhere for weeks, and then today Croydon ring us up and offer us St Peters, which is just down the road from us.

Logistically St P is by far the most sensible option - especially as have 2 others to go through school yet. We did, however, love the ethos of Ridgeway.

Anyone have anything to say about either?

Thanks

Very different size wise. Both do well for the kids I believe. Go and have another look around each.

Are you planning to move anytime soon?

Never again!! We've alredy been to settling in days at Ridgeway and are looking around St P's tomorrow just to try and decide.

Thanks very much

My ds goes to St. P and we love it (as does he). Love the ethos of the school. The kids seem confident and have good self-esteem. The older kids buddy the younger ones (yr 6/Year 1)and the children get to know those in other classes as well as those in their own. The parent/teacher association is very active and does a great job fund raising for the school. Afaik Ridgeway places an emphasis on learning through play.

Can I ask what you decided? Have been on waiting list for St. P for long time and would love to know what year group you were intersted in?

All 3 of mine re going through Ridgeway. I love it.

Only downside is the ridiculous "feeder school" system for secondary and the fact that it is not a feeder for Riddlesdown.
