Hi there,
I have just recently moved to Norwich from Scotland and dont know anyone or the area very well. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what Norwich has to offer in terms of things to do with the kids. I have a 4yr old and a 2yr old and live in the Thorpe St Andrew area.
Thanx

Hi and welcome to Norfolk! My children are a little older than yours so I'm a bit out of touch with things to do with little ones. You could try the local newspaper website www.edp24.co.uk or I did post a link on another thread on here with soft play areas. Bewilderwood is very good for little ones I believe (it's somewhere near Wroxham), and the dinosaur park is excellent (on the Fakenham Road out of Norwich). In Thorpe I imagine there'll be some toddler groups for your little one to go to and hopefully you can make some friends too. post back if I can help you with anything else

This is always a winner.

The Castle Museum is a fantastic place to explore. There are lots of brilliant things for kids, and places to run about. DD (5) says her favourite place is in the keep where there are drawing things and cutting out stuff. DD(3) likes the stuffed animals.

The Strangers Hall is a lovely place, again with excellent art facilities and a garden.

Cinema City has a Kids Club on a Saturday morning which we have been taking advantage of. It's free for adults, and once you've joined, £2/child for the film.

There's also the puppet theatre which does a lot of childrens' stuff.

The Millenium Library has a good kids section and they do storytelling some mornings and there are often things going on.

The Baptist church on the corner of Plumstead Road and Witard Rd have a toddler group - and my mum told me they've just started a Soccer tots group.

Wroxham Barns have a Junior Farm that my two love (they're 3 and 1 so similar ages). They've also got a kids funfair there and it costs about 70p a ride. I'm not sure if it's all year round though.

There's a local musical charity called Presma (Pre-School Music Association) that does good music classes for toddlers. My 1yo is a bit young for it but DD has loved it since she was 2yo. They have a few classes in the area - website here

Do you mind me asking whereabouts in Thorpe you are? I'm in Thorpe End so very close to you!

THIS is always good for the kids - maybe not your younger one but the older one will probably like it!

Also it is not far from Thorpe St Andrews - it does one in Trowse which is just near the football ground
