Sheffield meet-up: Wednesday 26th August 2009

Is everyone still on? Who is coming?

Plan is:

Dry weather

Meet at 12 noon in the Winter Gardens near to Zooby's sandwich bar/shop.

Either buy food from Zoobys (excellent sandwiches!) or bring a picnic.

Eat in Winter Gardens or Peace Gardens. by the fountains, depending on temperatures.

If warmish remember swimmers and towels for children as they will want to play in the fountains and will get very wet! They love it.

Wet weather

Propose meeting at 12 noon at Weston Park museum. Bring picnic or buy from cafe or Starbucks over the road. There is an indoor picnic area upstairs - meet here?

If it turned nice afetr a wet start there is the park to play in anyway.

My 4 yr DS has had a better offer! I have to drop him in Crosspool at 12 and then I'll be down with you in town after that with the other two!

Gutted! I was going to come but now have a job interview at 1.30 that day.

Forecast for Wednesday is currently heavy rain

So will it be the Museum then?

I was hoping to make it, but have to see the midwife at 12.00. Hope you all have a good time, and I look forward to being able to come next time.

I saw the forecast at lunchtime, and thought we'd probably end up at the museum - although DD would actually prefer to go there, so at least one of us will be happy!

When do you want to make final decision? Forecast still says heavy rain showers on the BBC site.

Looks more likely that it will be the museum. If it does come out dry they can play outside anyway, and there is the playground in the park next door, and the park opposite has a zip waire, etc. Just not water play.

Picnic or cafe?

prefer the cafe - but costs probably dictate picnic! Sorry....

There is a picnic area upstars in the museum which we could use. TBH a mix isn't a problem even if others do say cafe, as they do take out stuff which can be eaten elsewhere. DD loves a good old picnic regardless

was about to come and post guess its a museum visit then, but been beaten to it.

I'm intending to bring a picnic. As predicted, DD very happy about going to the museum!
