PlaySport East Kilbride?!?! Is it open? We want to try the swimming...

Basically has anyone been swimming at PlaySport up at the Kingsgate in East Kilbride yet?

We want to take LO who is 16 months now. Just wondering how child friendly it is.

I also hope they have cubicles cos I am incredibly shy n do not do communal changing rooms any more. Especially not with a wee one.

Thanks

I thought when i drove past last week that only the golf bit is open just now, but I'd like to stand corrected as we've been wanting to see inside for ages!

I sometimes go to hamilton Water Palace, is quite dear but has nice wee pool for little kids and proper cubicles!

Oooh is there a pool there? We're just up the road. How exciting!

runnervt · 11/08/2009 10:55

Definitely looked like just the golf bit is open at the moment. Haven't heard from anyone who's actually been though.

Friend from East Kilbride says her hubby was there for the golf at the opening day event n it's just the golf course/driving range that seems to be open. They didn't see anything about a pool... Woops!!! I was sure I saw a sign outside with what looks like a stick figure swimming along with all the others.

Will have a look at Hamilton Water Palace. I just hate when you get somewhere n you can't really see what it is like unless you just pay n go in n try it for yourself...

Thanks

We take ds to Hamilton Water Palace quite often - they have a lovely wee pool with tiny slide, then a jacuzzi area, and such like. Its really nice (as pools go), with plenty of large changing rooms.

weegiemum · 15/08/2009 09:18

With slightly older kids on that side of town you can't beat the Time Capsule. Its outdated, the changing is hot and cramped, it costs us to go there (cos its not in Glasgow so we don't get the free kids thing).

BUT every time we go we are in there for at least 2 hours, the children love it, and even for little ones it is nice - there is a jacuzzi pool and the shallow end has nice bubbly bits and a slide.

Oh I was up that way yesterday too, wish I had looked now to see if it was open!

Hi, does anyone have an update on whether PlaySport is open yet?
Thanks

Hey I was up here a few weeks ago as friend wanted a golf voucher for chrimbo. At the moment the ONLY thing is the golf. The girl said that two of the buildings were vacant and waiting for people to invest/buy them so that they could have the potential to have a swimming pool. I was a bit disappointed as I thought it was a full leisure complex - but it only has a golf shop, and a wee coffee shop at the moment....

I really was hoping there would be a pool. There used to be a graphic of someone swimming but it has been changed to a woman doing step (I think) but the old bill boards still have a pic of the person swimming so I guess things just have been affected by the recession...

Shame - a new pool would be fab round here!

I just wanted to add their website address, although it seems to be only for the golf (cos that all that their at the moment )

Hi. it was it in the local paper that it had gone into receivership a couple of weeks back, im not sure if the golf is still open ,i think it might be under new management. None of the other facilities ever got opened, a bit of a disappointment actually!
