I was wondering what experiences and advice peole have about childminders or nurseries in South Cambs.

We live in a village south of Cambridge and I work at Addenbrookes. DD is at KU on site at the moment and although not unhappy, things could be better I expect.

Are there any suggestions of good childminders or expereice of other nurseries? Anyone been to Rainbow Day nursery?

All help really gratefully recieved!!

Thanks,

C

Patacake on cockcroft place is fab.

DS1 went to KU at addenbrooke's for a little while when he was around a year old and hated it. We then had a great childminder but she had the cheek to get pregnant

So when I went back to work after DS2 we put them both in KU at addenbrooke's really for convenience sake (as DH works there). They both got on OK there, DS1 really enjoyed it second time round and staff seemed a bit more settled. But circumstances changed, DS1 went to school, and so we eventually decided on a couple of afternoons at Patacake.

The difference is unbelievable. I didn't really realize what a nursery setting could do above and beyond just looking after the boys. DS2 adores it there. They do such interesting and varied things with them. Sometimes wish I could stay actually!

Their hours could be hindering though as they sort of run to school times (which is fine for us at the moment but obviously not much use if you work til 6)
