Queen Edith Community Primary - any reviews?

We're considering renting a house on Tillyard Way (near Queen Edith Way) which falls under the Queen Edith Community Primary School catchment area. Does anyone know the school? Any opinions?

Also, any opinions on the area would be most welcome!

Thanks

I don't send my girls there, but I have heard very good things about it. It is quite strict from what I have heard, but has good results.

cazzybabs · 26/05/2009 12:34

Oh and it is very over subscribed.

LaCerbiatta · 26/05/2009 12:37

thanks cazzybabs. Do you know if it's oversubscribed from within the catchment area?

Do you live in that area? Where do you send your girls?

pass...there is a list on cambridgeshire website which lists schools catchment areas...you could also phone and ask

cazzybabs · 26/05/2009 16:24

yes i do...they go private

I live very close to Queen Edith. I think it has quite a good reputation but I haven't heard anything about it being particularly difficult to get into if you aren't in the catchment area. My dd goes to the other local school, Morley Memorial, which is also a good school, but has the reputation of being a bit more relaxed than Queen Ediths. To be honest, I think most primaries in Cambridge are OK.

OOh my son's at Morley and my daughter will be there Sept 2010. I would agree it's pretty relaxed in some ways but I find it pastorally very good for my lad. What year is your dd in?

My SD goes there and I'm not that impressed. They send home lots of homework, even in Yr1 and have a really high turnover of children which she finds unsettling.

There seems very little fun at the school.

If it were my choice I would send her to a nicer, relaxed school.
