Having been thinking either Fifi and Allys or one devonshire gardens as a birthday treat for my mum - has anyone been to either? Or recommend somewhere else?

i've been to one dev, although it was a while ago. it was LOVELY. if the weather's nice, though, i'd be finding out if cameron house at loch lomond do an afternoon tea as that would be LUSH.

Oooh yes, we went to the boathouse at Cameron House for my birthday... it was lovely, although I was slightly at paying £8 for fish goujouns and potato wedges for ds, he was only 18 months old at the tim Was lovely though

Another second for the Cameron House afternoon tea - went there for my sister's birthday on a beautiful summer's day and it was fantastic. Expensive though but VERY nice and a good location. Haven't been into One Dev since it's reincarnation as Hotel Du Vin - don't know if much has changed.

Mar Hall in Bishopton, lovely afternoon tea in very posh great hall, with option of a glass of champagne.

midnightexpress · 13/05/2009 22:45

Job done Geordie .

I was thinking about Mar Hall. Not that I've ever been, but anywhere that entertains Ms Minogue must surely do afternoon tea, I thought, and it seems I was right. I bet it's reet posh.

wiggletastic · 14/05/2009 07:46

Tis reet posh indeed ME. (Far too posh for the likes of me really) I stayed there the night before our wedding and me and new DH spent the first two nights of our honeymoon there. It was bliss! Highly recommended. The spa is lovely too. Ahh, memories......

geordieminx · 14/05/2009 10:16

I think Mar Hall might be the place... unless the weather is carppy then we'll head into Glasgow.

Quite fancy the spa at Mar Hall too so it will give me an opportunity to suss it out

Hey trixy - how's it going? How's your bump doing? Haven't seen you for ages.

trixymalixy · 14/05/2009 21:28

How was your holiday?

I know ME, we need to arrange another meet up. I'll be on mat leave in a few weeks so maybe we can arrange something. The bumps and bairns thread seems to have died a death.

I'm doing fine thanks, although it's pretty knackering having a toddler and a bump!!
