I got this through the post the other day, no idea what it will be like but thought it might be a chance to catch a bargain.

It is at the MacRobert Pavillon, Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, 10 - 6 on Friday and 10 - 4 on Saturday. It says Boden and Mini Boden. I'm hoping to make it along on the Saturday. Don't know how much of a scrum it will be, am hoping there isn't such a Boden craze in Scotland [unlikely smiley required]

Thanks for posting that! Might go along if I have time.

rookiemater · 20/04/2009 22:04

I have this funny vision of a bunch of middle aged women in fun hopscotch dresses fighting over the last mini Boden skirt or something.

I am hoping to get along on Saturday morning despite having already used up all credits for afternoon at Ski Dome in Glasgow , have floated the idea past DH who seems quite keen to take DS along to a completely unsuitable car auction in the area for some reason.

@ the snow dome. Hillend doesn't quite cut it in comparison does it?

rookiemater · 20/04/2009 22:28

V excited about it. Idea concocted at drunken dinner party, as skiing is the main thing post DS that I miss and don't want to go until he is old enough to enjoy ski classes as well.

Will let you know if its any good, if it is it could become an alternative Mumsnet meet up venue.

I reckon it will be elbows out and scary (based on my experience of NCT sales in Edinburgh!)

Love a lot of Boden stuff but just too expensive normally so

Would love to go but just don;t have sharp enough elbows and am too polite!

mawbroon · 23/04/2009 11:25

What's Boden?

JustCallMeGoat · 23/04/2009 11:41

i am strangely drawn to this. i have no idea why. jus tlove the idea of a bargain and the girls clothes are lovely.

rookiemater · 23/04/2009 21:24

Mawbroon, it's a bit like Millets but clashing with odd prints

Was definite elbows out affair!

Long queue of cars to get in (and wanted £3 for parking - did I miss that on the flyer??) and then a total scrum inside - I was there just before 11am and empty racks/boxes already - apparently they put more stuff out tomorrow though??

Had my 2 yr old dd with me, we didn't stay long and didn't get anything... am not a fan of crowds though, loads of people (the ones without toddlers!) were coming away with huge bags of stuff. The lines to pay were super long as well...

Good luck anyone else who braves it!

JustCallMeGoat · 24/04/2009 13:14

it was pretty crazy bumble but i braved it out and got 3 pairs of trews, 2 shirts and a skirt for me 1 pair or trews for dh, 2 dresses, a top and cardie for dd.

guess how much?

it was looking less crazy when i left about 12.

HLaurens · 24/04/2009 15:35

It was mad, but I got a cardi and 2 pairs trousers for me, and trousers, two t-shirts, a skirt, and two pairs pyjamas for DD all for £100.

And I think I didn't buy anything we'll never wear...

bumble75 · 24/04/2009 18:48

Well done Ladies!

I think I timed my run wrong - a friend who went said things had just been replenished when she was there a bit earlier than me and she got many bargains as well. The 2-3 girl stuff was all but empty when I was there

Go on Goat, impress us with how much (or should it be how little )your haul was?

rookiemater · 24/04/2009 22:06

Oh all v exciting. DH taking DS for haircut tomorrow morning so i could perhaps make it there. Did they have much boys stuff ?

OP posts:
JustCallMeGoat · 25/04/2009 08:41

£130

didn't notice much boys stuff but then i had little girl stuff tunnel vision.

rookiemater · 26/04/2009 15:42

Well I went on Saturday and left with ...drum roll... a cup of tea.

All that was left in my size was tat and there was absolutely no boys clothes in either 3-4 or 4-4 yr old. Plus for sales items, some of which were 2 years old, I thought the prices of £20.00 for trousers £10.00 for tops and £40.00 for boots were a bit steep, would have been different I suppose if there was anything I liked.

On the up side, it was definitely worth going just for the sheer Bodeness of the event. There were land rovers aplently parked on the grass and I heard a pair of plummy sounding ladies wondering if the tank top would suit Oliver or not. In 20 years time I'm sure we will all be swelling the ranks of the WI and making really nice jam.

Oh the sno dome was FANTASTIC. Can't wait to go again although the same slope got a bit dull after 2 hours.
