Did a run on Tuesday night. I ran for 20 minutes! I have decided that I am going to like it and I will continue.

Anyone joining me in a new motivational running thread?

Well done! 20 minutes with no stops? That's really good, think I will manage about 2 minutes when I start again!

Mung · 10/04/2009 15:26

20 minutes and no stops...much easier actually than the stopping and starting business. I will try and go out again today or tomorrow...I am determined that I am going to enjoy it. I figured that if i start now, I will be slim enough to wear a vest top and shorts by the time the summer is here and then I'll have the added bonus of a nice tan!

I hope you are well.

We do it at 8.15 each of thise nights and a bit earlier on a Sunday but mostly just 2 of us on a Sunday the tohers are big jessies!

Hey, well done Mung! After all my talk, i havent done it, and i've just come back from an all you can eat holiday (sorry that should be all inclusive - but i had to get my money's worth!) and am HUGE Im trying to find the motivation to start again. again.

keep posting and maybe you will spur me off my bum!

SparklyPrincess · 12/04/2009 19:38

Well done Mung!

This might just be the kick up the bum I need ... been so rubbish recently. Been feeling *$^% but I've been to the docs and hopefully I'll be feeling better very soon.

I'm going to really try to go tomorrow.

MC, let me get back up to 5k and I might come with you sometimes, perhaps on the Sundays ... that time's a bit faster than I've done before but it might be good to push myself a bit.

Thanks to you i went running today! Am starting the couch potato thingy again. So i've done session 1 week 1. Quite a way to go.

Mung · 15/04/2009 14:31

I hope you are feeling better SP. Did you go on Monday?

Well done Pooter...when are you going next?

I have been eating entertaining all weekend as I had a French friend here, so haven't been at all. I'm off tonight though.

I too may join you soon MC...I need to get up to the same speed though and I am way off!

How are you getting on Mung? I've been out a few times but can't get back into it. Had a plan to run along the river while DD1 is at playschool but only managed it once and now she won't go.

I really don't know what to do ... can't bring myself to leave her when she's so upset. And she is really upset. Don't understand as she used to love it so much!

Anyway, we're off to the lakes next week so I'm going to try to get a couple of runs in, have scoped out a flat riverside track that's a 5k there-and-back. And I suppose I could go when dh gets home tonight!

pooter · 29/04/2009 15:51

ah, your poor DD SP. I hope she's back to her usual self soon. Is it the thought of soon going to school, and she wants to keep with you while she can?

Have a great time at the lakes!

I have been quite good, am now on week 2 - woo hoo! I have to do it whilst DS is a the Uni nursery, so im running/staggering around all of these young fit 18yr olds . But i keep telling myself that every time i do it i will get better until one day - i will actually enjoy it!

MadameCastafiore · 29/04/2009 16:03

Oh no SP hope she back to normal soon!

You can all come join our little running club, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays - some do 5km and some more (made one of them do her 1st 10km last night and she was sooo proud of herself!).

Anyway, anytime anyone wants a running buddy give me a call - I am happy to run everyday if I can get shot of DS for an hour!

Hopefully will see some of you guys soon - DS in quarantine till Sunday after his tonsillectomy!

SparklyPrincess · 29/04/2009 22:47

Will definitely come MC, just need to train myself a little to be less embarrassing! Did 2 and a half miles in 26 minutes tonight (which is fast for me!) and will hopefully get up to the full 5k in the next week or so.

You sound a bit scary though .......

I don't know what's up with DD1 - I think this IS her normal self. I think she's going to be a bit high-maintenance (can't imagine where she might possibly get that from ... )

pooter · 30/04/2009 00:12

well, ta for the invite madameC, but as if!! I am on week 2 of the couch potato thingy, so am still more potato than human. Maybe next year?

Mung · 30/04/2009 08:16

I am with SP on that one. My aim is to get a bit more running in and then join you guys.

Just a thought for DD1...if you want to go and stay with her at pre-school one day then I could entertain DD2 for you so its just the two of you. Perhaps she needs a bit of time with just you and her....just a thought.

SP - we do 5k (3 miles) in between 28.5 and 32.5 minutes so you are not far off!
