Childminders in Banbury

Does anyone have any recommendations for childminders in the area?

I will be starting college in September (I know I am probably planning too far in advance) and would like to find suitable childcare for my two children (4 and 3).

My eldest will have started full-time school by then and my youngest does sessions in a lovely playgroup which I would be reluctant to stop, so would involve quite a bit of running around!

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!!

you need to base your search around the school and hope they also serve the same playgroup. which school / playgroup? know a few so probably can help.

also theres the trio network in banbury. prisioner will be along later no doubt with details for that.

phone the childrens centres - sunshine; britannia rd etc. they run monthly childminder dropins which you can go along to and meet childminders and find out about their vacancies.

some regular haunts for cms are baby bounce at spiceball and rugrats where you can usually work out who the cms are and get to speak to them and see them in action.

oh and no you are not planning too far in advance. its good to get to know whos around and meet a few but be prepared that if you can't afford deposits or retainers to hold a place for sept, you may have to risk waiting and hoping the space is still there.

Would be St Mary's primary school (Southam Road) and St Mary's playgroup (completely unconnected and at the Friends meeting house on Horsefair) So they are relatively close together.

I'm here! I'm here! (Hello twinkly!)

You can find which childminders already do the run to specific schools by entering the name of the school here on the Childrens Information Service site (on the space marked "search by school pick-up"). It currently shows that there are 3 minders who collect from St. Mary's, but I know that there are more.

There are newly-registering childminders in the area who may consider doing school pick-ups too. There may be other CMs who do the school run there, but may not have it listed either (more ringing around for you, unfortunately).

Ring the CIS to get a list of all the CMs as not all of them will be listed on their website.

evening TP! I will make it to rugrats one day.

Xavielli. Sorry I don't know any specific cms that run to that school. Get the full list from the CIS and start ringing around and meeting a few. When I started out finding cms I visited a few and whilst there found out where they go during the day (toddler grps etc) and then I turned up and joined the group. I got to see them in action as well then before making a final decision. good luck.

oh, I pop in here most nights to see the local postings, so it wouldn't have been long before I saw your posts.

Hi
I live in Banbury oxfordshire and i am on a search for a childminder for beautiful daughter Evie, she starts nursuary in september and both me and my partner work full time. I am looking for a person who will take Evie to nursary and collect her then have her for 2-4 hours after for 3 of the 5 days as her grandparents want her for a day each. She is my only child and i have never used a childminder before.
Please contact me if you are a childminder and my situation suits you.
