Is anyone is SW Edinburgh who would like to meet up?

Hello, have only just found this section which is incredible as I have been lurking for ages! Just wondering if anyone is near me who would like to meet - am finding myself a bit devoid of friends after having dd!

I live in Currie and have a one year old dd. I work Mon - Wed but am around Thurs - Sun. It would be great to meet some new people and I would be more than happy to hop on a bus and meet in town if you are further away.

Hi completely. I have just tried to contact you through CAT (contact another mumsnetter) but it says you are not set up to receive them.

If you go into "MyMumsnet" you should be able to change it.

completelyabsolutely · 20/02/2009 10:22

I have changed it - hopefully it should work now.

That would be good, don't worry about the age difference I am thinking more of myself than dd if I'm honest none of my friends have children and have all buggered off - especially we have now moved to the end of the known world - I think as far as some of them are concerned beyond Gorgie is just marked 'There be dragons' on the map! My e-mail address is completely absolutely at live dot com with no spaces. Also I can give you the low down on St Johns - had dd there last year, although not on the hypnobirthing - bought the book, read it really wanted to do the course - didn't even listen to the cd once

Hi completely, I'm in Morningside and have 22month DD. Definately up for meeting new people with little ones!

madameovary · 23/02/2009 13:44

Hi completely and everyone I'm in Corstorphine but grew up in Morningside so I know that area well! My DD will be 1 in April if anyone wants to meet up?

completelyabsolutely · 23/02/2009 16:17

Ladies - hopefully I will have the internet at home again tonight as I can't check my personal e-mails here - get a big scary message saying something along the lines of 'We are watching you, get back to work you slacker or we will come after you'.

As lots of you seem to be in Morningside can someone suggest somewhere suitable for meeting up there? Or in town if thats better?

Madameovary - I used to live in Corstorphine (ok I'll come clean it was actually Drum Brae) I miss Corstorphine Hill lots

I live in Tollcross, my DS is 16 months and would like to meet up. The only problem is that I work full time so it would need to be at a weekend.

gingerwench · 26/02/2009 10:42

I'm south-east Edinburgh (LIberton) and I have an 8.5 month old. Still on maternity leave and I'd love to meet up.

FairyLightsForever · 26/02/2009 11:05

The Eric Liddle centre at Holy Corner is quite child friendly? Depending on the day we may be able to use one of their rooms.

Janos · 26/02/2009 17:45

Oh heck sorry completelyabsolutely things have been a bit hectic and I forget to email you.

I'm just down the road in Clovenstone, on the edge of (gulp) Wester Hailes.

Will send a messge toot sweet.

Eric Liddle Centre is a good idea. That's only Holy Corner, isn't it? What days are people thinking of?

Janos · 26/02/2009 17:46

forget = forgot

Sorry!

FairyLightsForever · 28/02/2009 15:57

Any day except a friday is good for me- I'm very easy, I have no life

wrongsideof40 · 01/03/2009 22:53

Hi - my youngest is 5 so I'm a bit old for you lot - but wanted to add - Eric Liddle is great but parking is a pain in the - could try the Butterflies cafe at Marchmont St Giles church - home made goodies , sofas and a baby/toddler friendly play zone - Have fun !!

baiyu · 02/03/2009 10:07

Yes please! I have a DS of nearly 10 months. We live in Newington but happy to walk in any direction!

Silke123 · 10/03/2009 10:42

Hi completelyabsolutley,

couldn´t reach you via your emailadress..... Am living in SW Edinburgh as well, we just moved here in December so am veeeeeeeeeeeeery interested in meeting up with other mums!!!
My daughter is 11 months old.
So if you are interested in meeting up or have already arranged a meeting with the other "mumsnetters", do let me know!!!

mawbroon · 10/03/2009 21:53

I was in the Eric Liddle centre the other day and see that the cafe is closing as of the end of March. The other bit in the foyer is to remain open I think, but they just do snacks and drinks I think.

Chrysanthemum5 · 24/04/2009 13:46

Hi
I'm in Grange, would be good to meet up soemtime. I can vouch for Butterflies cafe, it is excellent (as long as you avoid the 3pm school rush .

Currently I am off on Mondays and Thursdays, but that will change once DC1 goes to school in August
