Babysitting - looking for someone to babysit who also has a baby of 18months ish

Hi, I know this makes me an overly stressy Mum but I'm not comfortable leaving my son with a babysitter I don't know. As my family are not nearby what I am looking for is someone who lives in the Grange/Marchmont/ morningside area who could babysit for me then i could babysit back for you. Only looking to go out for a meal or cinema every couple of months and would be great to meet up first so we can get to know the babies before babysitting. All the people I know with babies have family nearby so don't have this problem! Thanks loads

Hi Sarah. I know this is not quite what you are looking for, but just to let you know that I am registered childminder and I do ad hoc minding if I can fit it in with whatever other mindees I have that day.

I live in South Edinburgh, a bit outside of the area you are asking about, but if you are ever stuck during the daytime, I could help you out.

There are a few other MNetters who can vouch for me if you were interested.

I will vouch for Mawbroons suitableness for babysitting, as only a complete random stranger on t'internet can do !

Another option is to set up your own babysitting circle using www.mynightoff.com. It may seem as if all your friends have relatives to help out but if you can get one to join then its amazing how quickly it spirals. Or your health visitor might be able to put up a note for you.
