Hi,

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and was looking for either a yoga or pilates class for pregnant women, preferably in the Leyton/Walthamstow area, to go to after work or on weekends.

Anyone know of any classes? or any other exercise classes suitable for pregnant women?

Hi, this is probably too late for you, but I went to a fab class at Red Onion dance studios (next to the old cinema on Hoe St) run by a wonderful Mexican woman called Lola. Really empowering and totally transformed my formerly fearful attitude to giving birth.

Good luck with your preg/ birth!

This is even later, but have you found Health Works in Walthamstow? No personal recommendation to offer, but I know they do this. www.thehealthworks.co.uk/pilatesyoga.php

Hi Sabs1981, there is a fantastic water aerobics in Leyton leasure lagoon center every Tuesday at 18.30. The instructor is great, but now is too cold (in the water - nice, outside - freezing).

I have tried to find pregnancy yoga/pilates classes in the area, but no luck for the moment. The nearer place is in Bethnal Green - I've been there few years ago on a yoga class, but can't say too impressed.

Please let me know if you find anything, as I am dying for some sport. At the moment I am doing only basic morning routine and cycling during the weekend, but need more.

bobolana Community Place on 806 High Road Leyton does pilates for pregnant mums (I saw your other post) on Thursdays at 2.30. Contact your local children's centre for more information

hi Sabs1981, thank you for the advice. the thing is that i am working during the day, so ideally i want to find something in the evenings or during the weekend.

thanks for all the info! I'm moving to Leyton next week, and I'm 30 weeks pregnant-- was wondering about activities in the area...

if you are working, you will find it difficult, as most of the classes are during the day. i have decided to keep doing exercises at home and start with the classes after the baby is born
