Farm parks or similar for birthday parties

Hi - can anyone recommend any farm parks, or similar, that are good for birthday parties.

DS is 3 in April. I like stonehurst at mountsorrel but there's not a lot to do there if it rains.

We live in stoney stanton but will have people coming to the party from across leicestershire.

thanks

I'm fairly close to you and we always go to Stonehurst as it's the best for little ones isn't it? I'll have a think.

Have you been to East Leake donkey sanctuary?

here

DD goes to a nursery on the site so we just about live there. It's got plenty of indoor areas in case of rain and they do catering for parties in the play barn.

DD also 3 in April and she would love going to a party there - we're not having her there as she goes 3 times a week anyway!!

What about Gorse Hill City Farm? Never been so probably worth a look before you book? Think I've just found something to do next week though!!!!

Sorry meant to add a link www.gorsehillcityfarm.org.uk/page2.htm

Hope that helps. I had never heard of the donkey sanctuary either.

Hmm just checked where stoney stanton is - might be a bit far?

Will have a think

blowninonabreeze · 13/02/2009 19:37

I just looked up gorse hill too. Have heard good things but never actually been. Not sure about it having much in the way of indoor stuff though

blowninonabreeze · 13/02/2009 19:39

Whilst I've got you leicestershire ladies captive, any recomendations of a decent childrens entertainer (probably magician) for a birthday party in April?

Between us we'll have these birthday parties sorted in no time!

Neena28 · 13/02/2009 19:44

Whereabouts are you blowninabreeze?

blowninonabreeze · 13/02/2009 19:53

Small village just north east of Loughborough.

Right on boarder of nottinghamshire and leicestershire, but until we lived here I lived in South Knighton so know Leicester better than nottingham

Neena28 · 13/02/2009 19:57

I'm not sure then as that's an awful long way away for our local people. Sorry.

choufleur · 13/02/2009 20:37

gorse hill is ok, but very exposed at top of a hill and nothing to do indoors.

I looked at the donkey santuary but it's a bit far from us.

nursery on site sounds lovely - think DS would love that.

Tis a fab nursery. DD loves it.

Prob a little far for you though.

Could you post on other local sites (maybe something nuneaton/coventry way?)

Not sure mumsnet local works?

how about manor farm? the staff there are lovely, they do a party package and they have a huge indoor playbarn for rainy days with wooden pirate ship, big wooden castle to play in, go-karts and enclosed area for toddlers/babies. its close to you, in east leake. I did some thorough research on farm parties for ds's 5th last year, email me if you want a copy of my spreadsheet! abi at autons dot co dot uk

choufleur · 15/02/2009 19:14

wentto manor farm today to check it out. it is great but maybe a little far from us and some of our friends. also a bit worried that we'll actually loose people as there is so much to do. DS absolutely loved it - will definately go back.

thanks keira - i'll email you
