Race for Life

Is there anyone out there thinking of doing the Race for Life in Dunorlan Park on 24 May or has done it before? Am thinking of biting the bullet and making a bid to (finally) get into shape (i.e. one that isn't short, fat and round) but wonder if Dunorlan Park is a challenge too far since I recall it being really quite hilly! Does anyone out there know what it is like? Also if anyone in Sevenoaks fancies joining me for mutual support for evening/weekend training I have my own copy of "couch potato to 5km in two months"... Have mastered the "couch potato" bit so just need to do the rest now

don't think I'll be able to do it but did one in London a few years ago from a standing start (couldn't run for more than 2 mins when I started training but managed to run the whole 5km on the day). Am in Sevenoaks so tempted by idea of occasional training once dcs are a bit more manageable for dh to look after (dd 2 & ds 4 mths so keeping me rather busy at the moment!) Good luck if you go for it - the atmosphere at these events is fantastic!

To my knowledge this is the first year that it's been done in Dunorlan, as it's normally at the Hop Farm.

There is a great Beginnners Running group in T/W. Details are here

hi all

i am in t wells, me and a couple of friends have signed up and I have joined the gym and started a diet as prep, I need to lose 1 stone as a start and also get much fitter, I can run/jog for about 2 minutes max at the moment, and whilst i am not planning to run the whole 5K I would like to do a bit at more than walking pace.
