Furzedown Family Centre toddler group

Hi

Has anyone been to this. I walked past the school a few mornings ago but couldn't work out where to go - the school is huge. I was also a bit late so couldn't see any other pushchairs about.

Also is it a good toddler group (not that I've got much experience of them)?

Any help appreciated.

the toddler group is in quite a small room, so once it's full that's it - I know people who send their dc to the family centre playgroup and are happy with it - personally I sent mine to Allsorts (at Baptist church at Mitcham Lane end of Welham Road) because there was more light and space and I preferred the outlook of the staff who were there at the time

as far as playgroups go, Allsorts and the family centre are the main options

if you're looking for mother/parent/carer and toddler groups St Alban's on Tuesday morning is good, and Allsorts do Mon and Weds pm

I went a few times last year - fairly small but I think the atmosphere was much calmer and nicer tahn others. Costs a bit more too £2.50?

I think I literally went through the school - a nice student even helped me with the pushchair - but sure there's a better way in!

Are you new to the area?

Thanks

I finally found it on Friday - I followed someone with a pushchair and still had to ask someone if I was in the right place. I really liked it - as you say Tatty, nice atmosphere, although not that many kids.

I'm not new to the area but my little girl has only just dropped her morning nap (she's 15 months) so have been looking for things for us to do in the morning. I work Mondays and Tuesdays so it's just the rest of the week we are looking for things to do. I think we'll try the leisure centre next, although will be going back to Furzedown Family Centre.

There's a lovely singing group on weds and thurs, based in the grounds of fransican primary school, handy as its a drop in, but very popular so get there early - 10 am or 11am

I used to go to the old class in Bickersteth Road and did go to a couple when it moved but I didn't really like the new room and it just got too busy. It was OK when my little one would sit on my knee but now she'd be all over the place. Perhaps I'll give it another go as I did really like Margaret.

How old is your child?
